We are very proud of our excellent results at GCSE. They are the result of very high quality teaching, an outstanding commitment by staff in terms of nurturing and supporting students, the hard work and good revision techniques of students and the wealth of support given by parents/ carers and the wider community. GCSE results at Aylsham High School have shown an upward trend over recent years. In 2007, 60% of the students achieved 5 or more higher grades at GCSE, including English and mathematics. These results, which were 14% above the Norfolk average, placed the school as the fourth highest local authority school in the county. Results in English Language placed the school in the top 25% of state schools nationally and mathematics results placed the school in the top 6%. The school is particularly proud of its ability to enable all students, whatever their ability, to make good progress. Students with special educational needs made very good progress and many overcame their difficulties to achieve higher grades at GCSE. 98% of students achieved 5 or more A*-G grades, which compares very favourably with the national figure of 92%.
