We aim to ensure that the learning environments are of the highest quality possible for current and future students. Over the last few years we have been working hard to ensure that Aylsham High provides the best possible working environment for staff and students. Our new Sports Hall is the envy of many schools and provides a superb environment for young people to enjoy taking part in physical activity, inspired by an outstanding team of teachers. We are also fortunate to have a new 3G synthetic grass pitch which is already very well used by the school and the wider community. 
In September 2005 we opened a new classroom block, housing English and Mathematics our superb and a further state of the art Science Laboratory. A new Learning Resource Centre at the centre of this building is equipped to the highest standard. It is a place for encouraging independent study and also for help with research from our very committed Learning Resource Centre Manager. Books remain very important within this environment where a love of reading for pleasure is nurtured. 
We have provided an additional Dining Room for students to ensure that their lunchtime experience is a positive one where they can meet and chat with friends, whilst having access to a healthy range of options for lunch. Last year, Aylsham High was a finalist in the EDP Food Awards for the Best School Food Initiative. This was a testament to the hard work of the School Canteen Staff and Catering Department. We have recently upgraded the ICT suites and are constantly developing our skills and improving facilities to ensure that young people have access to the learning tools that they enjoy using. Many rooms have Interactive Whiteboards to enhance the teaching and learning environment. We have a highly skilled team of Technicians, led by a Network Manager to ensure that hardware and software run smoothly.  Science Laboratories have been completely refurbished in recent years and resources are professionally managed by highly competent Science Technicians. New lifts have been installed to ensure that all areas of the school are accessible. Safety and security on site is very important to us and we have installed CCTV cameras throughout the site. This allows the whole site to be monitored day and night. We hope to encourage more students to cycle to school and will very soon begin work on refurbishing the cycle sheds to ensure that students feel confident that their bicycles will be safe during the school day. Visitors to the site often comment on how clean and well maintained the school is. Our Site team is dedicated to providing a clean working environment and maintaining such a large site is a massive task which they approach with enthusiasm. The secure and efficient administration of the school is a vitally important element of our success. Led by an outstanding Administration Manager the team provides comprehensive support throughout the school. A new Management Information System has just been purchased to further enhance capacity.
