Many congratulations to the Friendly Face Team who have been awarded the Princess Diana Anti-Bullying Award.

Many congratulations to the Friendly Face Team who have been awarded the Princess Diana Anti-Bullying Award.

Friendly Faces are a team of pupils who work to solve the problems of younger pupils in the school including bullying. They have their own room in school where at least two Friendly Faces are available every Form, Break and Lunch time for pupils to drop in for problem solving advice, help with issues or just simply as someone to talk to. Their contribution to the school community is invaluable. The Friendly face team run a Friendly Face roadshow where they go out to the Primary schools to meet the Year 6 pupils in the few months before they are about to start at AHS, and help to get them ready for high school. This year they have also been involved in helping another local school to set up their own similiar scheme and deliver training for the pupils there.

The princess Diana Award recognises the quality of this work and we are really pleased that the hard work of the Friendly Faces has been externally validated in this way. Well done to the Friendly face team and to Miss Connor and Miss Heavens for their leadership, encouragement and support.
