Students impress the ‘Dragons’ at City College
It all started on 2nd February, with a young entrepreneur, Carly Ward. She came to give us the brief about the product that is, My Little Wrapper. We were entered into a Business and Enterprise competition, held at City College Norwich. For the competition we had to present our product to a panel of judges, who were Dick Palmer and Ben Ramesden. It was a Dragon’s Den style competition, and each school had to produce a pitch about their business idea.
Aylsham High School gave a pitch about personalised chocolate bar wrappers. We had a strong pitch, as well as a great team behind the scenes. The first day of our experience was spent at school, producing and trying the business idea to present to the judges.
We mixed a traditional pitch, presenting our ideas and the pros and cons of our business, with a lively rap based on the idea of smiling taking over the World. Although we did extremely well, and we gained a few customers in the process, we did not win, much to the disappointment of our whole group. We did, however, gain many contacts and hopefully we can use this experience to create our own business in school. Look out for us in the future!
