Jonno Stowell played at the Queens Diamond Jubilee Garden Party.

On Tuesday I went to Sandringham for the Queens Diamond Jubilee Garden Party. I was playing drums with Norfolk County Wind Band

Our band was selected to play and without a doubt we all said yes! We had to get a bus at 11.30 from St. Thomas Moore School. On the bus everyone was excited about playing for the Queen and when we got there we all had to be escorted to the marquee where the band were going to play.

Just before the band started to play, lots of people gathered round Sandringham House, so we knew the Queen was soon to come out which was very exciting. The band finished  playing The Lord of the Dance, which was the piece I was playing drum kit for and soon after the Queen came out and we got to the front and were really close to her.  The Queen handed out commemorative medals for the band and then shook our hands.

Nearly everyone had a sleep on the bus as we were so tired, but it was such a great day.
