Year 11 Futures Day

Year 11 Futures Day

On Friday 14 July our year 11 students began preparations for their post-16 decisions by meeting with many local colleges, training providers, universities and employers.

Having this experience enables our students to use their summer break to attend open days when possible and to gather information about courses, apprenticeships and much more before the intensity of the autumn term is upon them.

Having the opportunity of making informed decisions early can reduce any anxieties around post-16 decisions later on in their year. Families were invited to attend during the afternoon sessions.

In addition, with the support of Mr Sexton, students learnt about what is expected of them in terms of further education, higher education, apprenticeships and employment and a good deal of financial information about study versus employment, the importance of life skills and understanding the labour market.

Year 11 students will return to school in September ready to begin their preparations, using the Common Application Process and Common Prospectus for Norfolk.
