Baby and pre-school swimming lessons
We have organised an open parent and child swimming session on Saturday 21st February from 10am to 11am, as a taster session and introduction to Aylsham Swim Academy's baby and pre-school swimming lessons. This is a great opportunity to meet our instructor, and ask any questions about the lessons, while having fun with your child in the pool.
- For parents and children aged 6 months to 3 years (each child must be accompanied by a parent/carer please)
- Open fun session, supervised by a qualified swimming teacher
- Lots of toys, fun games, and opportunities for interaction
- Only £6 per adult and child
To book you and your child's place on our Splash and Play session
The Splash and Play session is £6 per parent and child pair and can be booked directly via Aylsham Swim Academy at Aylsham Sports Hub. Aylsham Swim Academy use SwimSoft for their bookings. If you are already registered with SwimSoft, our Splash and Play session will show in the available activities for your child. About our baby and pre-school lessons
Aylsham Swim Academy offer parent and child swimming lessons for children who are aged 6 months +. Our highly skilled swimming teachers will support you to introduce your child to the world of swimming.
We are an STA Swim Star Swim School and we follow the STA International Learn to Swim Programme. For this age group we follow the STARFISH and STANLEY awards programme. This is an innovative series of 6 progressive awards designed to introduce babies from 6 months old and the accompanying adult to a water adventure where water confidence and safety skills are introduced.
Lessons are only £12 each, and are bookable in advance at the start of each term.

When do our lessons take place?
Our lessons will take place on Monday mornings during term time:
- 9.45am to 10.15am - pre-school aged 3+
- 10.15am to 10.45am - children aged from 1 to 2 years
- 10.45am to 11.10am - children aged from 6 months to 1 year
Swim wear for lessons
Please ensure that children wear specialised waterproof nappies in addition to their swimsuit (we recommend a wetsuit for younger babies); wearing double layers helps to prevent leakage.
Guidance for starting swimming lessons
The policy of STA, with regards to introducing babies to aquatic activities is as follows:
- Babies should only be introduced to water in line with the most recent recommendations from the Department of Health.
