Family Friendly Race Night!

As we head into the final stretch of the school year, we are working hard to ensure our Year 11 students have a truly unforgettable Prom.
To help make this happen and keep ticket costs down, we are hosting a Family Friendly Race Night, and we would love for you to be involved! It’s a free event to attend and is going to be a fast-paced, fun-filled evening for the whole family, and every penny raised goes directly toward the Prom fund. If you are unsure what a Race Night is please see the information at the bottom of this email. Although the event is free to attend you will require cash on the night if you wish to take part in the race betting or playing the games we have planned.

How You Can Help
We are looking for "owners" and "trainers" to help us fill the field! This is a great way to support the cause even if you can't make it on the night.
1. Sponsor a Horse For just £5, you can name your very own horse! If your horse wins its race on the night, you’ll win a prize. It’s a bit of fun for the students too — who wouldn't want to see "Sir Trots-a-Lot" or "Homework Hater" galloping to victory?
2. Promote Your Business If you run a local business or work for a company that likes to support the community, we are offering advertising space in our event programme:
-
Full Page Ad: £25
-
Half Page Ad: £15
3. Raffle Donations If you’d prefer to donate a prize for our raffle, we would be incredibly grateful. All donors will be personally thanked in our event brochure. These can be brought into main reception before the event.
If you are interested in any of the options above or wanting to join us for the evening please click the following link forms.gle/ACDjHbe7W6SGcBC36 this will allow us to plan for catering and ensure there are plenty of refreshments for everyone. We have also attached the poster for advertising.
If you just wanted to make a donation to Prom without any involvement in the Race Night, please use the bank details below. If you have any further questions, please email twiseman@aylshamhigh.norfolk.sch.uk

What is a Race Night?
A family-friendly race night is a high-energy social event where guests "bet" on filmed or simulated races (usually horses, but sometimes dogs or even pigs) to win.
It’s a classic fundraiser because it mixes the excitement of a sporting event with a party atmosphere that works for families.
How It Works
The goal is to recreate the "day at the races" experience in a hall, school gym, or even a large living room.
-
The Races: You play pre-recorded films of past races on a big screen. The "form" of the horses is usually kept secret or randomised so no one has an unfair advantage.
-
The Betting: The betting will be small bets and this will replicate a similar feel of the races themselves.
